Pacific Northwest Fly Fishing is a community driven site. It is run by fly anglers for fly anglers. We strive to provide accurate information in a format that is easy to understand and will be helpful in one way or another in your pursuit of life's greatest passion.
Pacific Northwest Fly Fishing was started by Brian because he was tired of going to fly fishing websites and not seeing an organized method with which to distribute information pertinent to everyone that practices this sport. He was also tired of people getting 'blasted' on forums for asking beginner's questions or being told to use the search function to find what they were looking for.
This site is run by everyone who contributes. Submit your photos, articles, essays, blogs, how-to, tips & tricks - whatever you have that you think other fly fisherman may benefit from. Make this site your own.
What do you get out of it? Satisfaction; from knowing you're helping your community, from seeing your hard work benefit others, from developing the sport of fly fishing to be better than it was yesterday. Satisfaction that you can have a hand in how people treat the rivers, streams and beaches we hold dear to our hearts. Satisfaction that you can make a difference in how someone releases that wild cutthroat or handles that wild steelhead.

About Brian
I grew up in North Idaho fishing the famous Rocky & Bitterroot Mountain trout streams found there; The Lochsa, Clearwater, Clark Fork, St Joe, Coeur d'Alene and so on. I have lived (and fished) in Oregon, Washington and Idaho - I consider myself a true Pacific Northwesterner.
Chasing trout is an affinity I developed from the tender age of twelve and still love to this day. By and far, I would consider living in the Pacific Northwest a tremendous blessing with all the angling opportunities available on my doorstep. From wild Westslope Cutthroat to Redsides to searun cutthroat to steelhead to five or six different salmon species, this is the place to thrash the water with a fly.
I don't claim to be an expert, just someone who has a passion for casting the fly and (sometimes) catching fish. Mostly the former.
I currently reside in Gig Harbor Washington with my wife and dog, Gunnar the Norwegian Elkhound.
Brian.
