The more time your fly is in front of fish, the more chances you have of hooking one. Organization is key: spend the time you can't be on the river or lake to organize your gear. Make sure you have the flies you need where you need them, your tippet and leaders are in order and especially your license is on hand. Keep it all in backpack with your rod and reel ready to go so when the mood strikes you can be out the door and on the water!
